We-Are-Connected.org exists to provide "people-of-color" with primary source records that will allow them to complete their family pedigree histories.

Our Business

The idea for We-Are-Connected.org resulted from twelve years of running into dead ends in my quest to complete my family genealogical pedigree tree. I began to realize that the information I needed as an African-American was not available in an easy form. What I needed required conducting detailed research into records such as deeds and probate records that are not available in many small archives or even online. In that sense, I thought that if my quest was that hard, what about other African-Americans, Native-Americans, or Hispanic-Americans or any other minority groups? I begin to realize that among the few websites specifically for minorities, many still carried the basic records such as the census and some marriage and death records, but not the records that contain the hard information people of color need to find out where they came from.
