Connected Through Music in Difficult Times Rehearsing and Meeting Young People Online
On Monday, October 16, the Freiburg Music School Orchestra streamed its rehearsal on YouTube, enabling its musical partners from the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Musical Center to watch the rehearsal. It was interesting for the young Israelis because they had already prepared the same pieces to play with them, said orchestra leader Jürgen Burmeister. Afterwards, the young people from Freiburg and Tel Aviv-Jaffa were connected via a projector and Zoom. Alongside the questions and stories about fears and worries, there was also joy and a little "normality", says Burmeister. The 44 young people in Freiburg were thus given the opportunity to send their message of support and friendship to their Israeli friends, who were delighted to receive it.
