Friesland District Sports Association Strengthens Commitment Against Antisemitism Silent Vigils and Book Project

Following the Hamas attack on October 7, the Friesland District Sports Association remains in close contact with its partners and friends in Petakh Tikva. At the same time, the association is strengthening its commitment against antisemitism in order to counter the increasingly hostile climate for Jews in Germany.

For example, the district sports association participates locally in silent vigils under the motto "Together Against Antisemitism", most recently on December 20, 2023 in Husum. In a statement it says:

In a broad alliance, we stand together at the side of the people of Israel and all other victims of Hamas. We extend our sympathy and unreserved solidarity to them. We also stand up for the unrestricted right of the State of Israel to exist. Together we are sending a signal: for peace in the region – for democracy and the rule of law.

The district sports association is also currently working on the book project "Sport Against Antisemitism", which is due to be published in 2024. ConAct – Coordination Center German-Israeli Youth Exchange will be represented here with a guest contribution.
