Steglitz-Zehlendorf District Office Meets Partners from Kiryat Bialik in Berlin
Diplomatic relations between Germany and Israel were established in 1965. In order to fill them with life and, above all, to involve civil society, it was considered appropriate to gradually underpin them with German-Israeli town twinning partnerships. The old district of Steglitz felt the same way and established a municipal partnership with the Israeli municipality of Kiryat Bialik in the same year. In 2025, not only the 60th anniversary of the mutual exchange of ambassadors will be celebrated, but also the anniversary of this town twinning.
During the German-Israeli networking seminar organized by ConAct from November 26 to 28, 2024, there were plenty of opportunities to exchange views on the prospects for relations between Kiryat Bialik and Steglitz-Zehlendorf in bilateral discussion formats.
Steglitz-Zehlendorf is looking forward to the 60th anniversary of the partnership with Kiryat Bialik, which will be celebrated in 2025. By maintaining this valuable communal friendship, an important contribution is being made to German-Israeli international understanding and to reducing hatred of Israel and antisemitism.
