Toolkit “Education and Encounter After October 7” Available in Hebrew
In these challenging times, German-Israeli youth exchange remains an important space for exchanges and collaboration. A central question in preparing current exchange programs is: How can the events of October 7, 2023, and their implications for young people and society in Israel and Germany be addressed in youth exchanges?
The toolkit “Education and Encounter After October 7” provides group leaders in German-Israeli youth exchange with guidance and inspiration for educational engagement with these topics. The texts and methods raise awareness of the impact of October 7, 2023, and the ensuing war on Israel, as well as the increasing antisemitism in Germany and worldwide. The toolkit highlights the importance of commemorating the victims of and those affected by the terrorist attacks. At the same time, it encourages bilateral cooperation.
This publication is based on ideas and contributions from a German-Israeli working group of experts in education and youth exchange. Published in 2024, it was developed by ConAct – Coordination Center for German-Israeli Youth Exchange, the Council of Youth Movements in Israel, and the Israel Youth Exchange Authority.
It is now available online in German, English, and Hebrew—with German and English versions also available in print.
